Annette Jahnel

Annette Jahnel is the first women to drive around the world in a car alone. She will be speaking in Oudtshoorn on 25 September.

IN 2006, Annette Jahnel left an ordinary life behind. A year later she had circled the globe in a 2005 Renault Kangoo, becoming the first woman to accomplish this journey alone in a land vehicle.

Next week on Wednesday (25 September) this remarkable woman world traveller will be the speaker at an event hosted by Oudtshoorn Rotary.

Annette is still on the road – inspiring people everywhere to open themselves up to new opportunities.

With stories drawn from her road tripping journeys around the world, accompanied by beautiful photographs, she illustrates her own – sometimes funny, sometimes scary – journey.

Audiences from London to Edinburgh, Miami to Orlando, Johannesburg to Cape Town have been inspired to redefine their values, open their minds to the possibilities that life has to offer and to gain the courage to live fearlessly and make their own lives their greatest creation.

On Wednesday she will present a talk, “To the Edge of the Wild Frontier”, at the Oudtshoorn Retirement Village in Church Street. She has developed this talk for her next tour through the USA.

The price (R100) for the evening includes a meal.

Copies of Antoinette’s book, “My Year of Beds” which chronicles the experience and delivers a world few have seen closely, will be available for purchase and a signature from Antoinette.

For reservations, contact Tania de Beer (082 378 7990). Seats are limited – so do act fast to avoid disappointment.
